Day 5: Standard School Routine and Getting Used to the Pace

After the big shopping trip to East Point, Thursday was a pretty textbook student day. When you're on a four-week exchange, they can't all be high-speed adventures or late-night street food runs—sometimes you just need a standard routine day to recharge your batteries.

Here is what a casual, low-key day looks like on this program:

1. Putting in the Hours at School

We spent the morning and afternoon at the school working on the duties and projects we had mapped out the day before. Now that the initial orientation phase is over, we are starting to get into the actual groove of our daily tasks. It felt good to just focus, sit down with our materials, and get some real work done without the distraction of being brand new to the building.

2. Pure Relaxation Mode

Once class wrapped up, we skipped the sightseeing and headed straight back to the apartment to just chill. Living in a new country—especially one as energetic and loud as Georgia—takes a lot of sensory energy. Taking an evening to do absolutely nothing but watch some shows, cook dinner at home, and rest our feet was exactly what we needed.

Advice for Future Students: Don't feel guilty about taking a "boring" day to just stay inside and relax. It’s easy to feel like you have to explore every single second you're here, but burnout is real. Give yourself a break so you're ready for the big days when they happen.

And speaking of big days... our quiet Thursday was the perfect calm before the storm, because Friday is the day we officially head to a television studio for a live interview!
