Wednesday was what we like to call a "maintenance day." After a few days of pure exploration, sports tournaments, and local markets, the pace finally slowed down a bit.
Here is how our relatively quiet Day 4 went down, and why we ended up at one of Tbilisi’s biggest shopping hubs.
1. The Planning Phase
We spent the first half of the day inside the school, sitting down with the teachers to map out our schedule. They gave us a breakdown of the different duties and projects we’ll be handling over the next four weeks.
It wasn't the most thrilling day on paper—mostly standard admin work, organizing timelines, and figuring out our tasks—but it was good to finally get a clear picture of what our actual workload is going to look like.
2. Heading to the Edge of the City: East Point Mall
Once school wrapped up, we decided to check out a different side of Tbilisi's retail scene. We jumped into transit and headed out to East Point, a massive open-air shopping mall located on the eastern edge of the city.
If you come to Tbilisi as an exchange student, get used to the name East Point, because this was just the first of many visits we would end up making here. It doesn't look like a traditional indoor German mall; it’s more like a massive, open-air shopping village. It has pretty much every major clothing brand you can think of, a ton of restaurants, hypermarkets, and even an IMAX cinema.
We spent the afternoon walking around, checking out the shops, and getting some things we needed for our apartment. It’s the perfect place to go if you need to stock up on western brands or just want to walk around somewhere modern after class.
Student to Student Tip: East Point is a bit outside the city center, but it’s incredibly easy to get to using the transit system. If you ever need anything specific that you can't find in the small local corner shops, this is your best bet!
